From burnout, Frank Body, Airwallex to Aperitif agency launch

Digital marketing firm, Aperitif Agency, is broadening its horizons with the addition of Isabelle Romeo, former Global E-commerce Marketing Manager of Frank Body, and her husband Joe Romeo, ex-Airwallex alumnus and Aperitif founder. The couple will be managing key accounts for JVC, James Halliday Wine Companion, and Harrolds.

Aperitif Agency was initially a side project by Joe Romeo, who has a background in delivering SEO strategies for companies like Ford, BP, and Bupa while at WPP's MindShare. Isabelle Romeo also has experience at Mindshare, where she led the performance marketing strategy for Bupa in Australia and the UK. The couple has previously worked together at WME, Mindshare, and Whispir.

In 2019, Isabelle Romeo was approached to lead the customer growth and retention strategy for Frank Body, while Joe Romeo pursued a role as the first growth-marketing hire at Airwallex in Australia. After experiencing burn-out, Joe Romeo launched Aperitif in Melbourne, which quickly gained traction. Seven months later, Isabelle Romeo has been appointed as Head of Performance Marketing at Aperitif.

"We get the most energy when we take on a client who's traditionally had a rough time with digital agencies and we completely turn it around in the first 3 months. Both from a results and delivery perspective," says Joe Romeo. Isabelle Romeo adds, "what sets us apart is our deep integration within our clients' teams, fostering a collaborative environment akin to being part of the squad. This close partnership has led to remarkable successes, including our recent collaborations with prestigious brands such as JVC, James Halliday Wine Companion, and Harrolds."

Aperitif Agency is a family-owned and operated agency that acts as a virtual CMO for businesses seeking personalised marketing solutions. The agency is directly involved in the execution of 95% of the strategies they devise. Aperitif Agency is planning further expansion, particularly in the UK market, where it claims to have recently secured multiple new clients. The agency aims to double its annual turnover this year while maintaining its personal, boutique ethos.
