A shuffle in ranks,
Prime Video's new leadership,
Day 1 starts again.
Hwei Loke steps us as head of Amazon Prime Video in ANZ
Amazon has reshuffled its Prime Video leadership in Australia and New Zealand, naming former head of marketing Hwei Loke as head of Prime Video in the region.
She replaces Hushidar Kharas, who is headed to the US to take on a new role as head of Prime Video brand and social strategy.
Loke first joined the business as head of creative in 2020 and was promoted to the lead marketing role in 2023. She's previously held marketing roles for The Walt Disney Company in South East Asia, as well as SBS Australia and Nickelodeon ANZ.
"Sharing that I am stepping up into the Head of Prime Video role for Australia and New Zealand. It's such an exciting time for the business and I couldn't be more pleased to work alongside such a passionate and hardworking team. My journey with Amazon started four years ago but as we say, it's always Day 1," said Loke in a LinkedIn post.
Loke's promotion comes alongside changes to the Canada team, where Mark Shopiro has been promoted to head of Prime Video. Dan Slepak, meanwhile, will step into the newly created role of head of marketplace across ANZ and Canada.
