Qualtrics lays out AI roadmap, appoints first president of AI strategy

Experience management (XM) platform, Qualtrics, has appointed Gurdeep Singh Pall as its inaugural President of AI Strategy. Pall will be responsible for guiding the company's AI initiatives, vision, and roadmap, working closely with the technology and product teams.

Pall brings over three decades of experience to his new role, including a significant tenure at Microsoft. During his time at the tech giant, Pall contributed to the development and promotion of key products such as Windows, Teams, Skype, and Bing. More recently, he was instrumental in creating new products and solutions using emerging AI technologies, including leading Microsoft’s Open AI partnership.

"AI is the most transformative technology that the world has ever seen, and we are betting big on it, as a company, by hiring Gurdeep to set and accelerate a visionary agenda to make business more human," said Qualtrics CEO Zig Serafin.

In his new role, Pall will be based in Seattle and will join the senior leadership team at Qualtrics. The company is known for developing powerful, generative, causal, and predictive AI innovations powered by the world's largest database of human sentiment. Qualtrics AI integrates billions of data points across the customer and employee journey to drive actions that personalise experiences at scale.

"Qualtrics occupies a very unique corner of the world as we shift from the age of software into the age of AI. Experience is one of the most important aspects of our world today, and my new role is an exciting opportunity to help Qualtrics bring AI to bear on every industry around the globe, to create enormous impact for customers, employees and organisations," said Pall.

This appointment comes after Qualtrics announced a commitment to invest $500 million in AI innovation through 2027.
