Linktree buys fellow Aussie start up Plann, bolstering its social scheduling capabilities

Linktree is set to offer users a new suite of highly-requested features following the acquisition of Sydney-based social scheduling company, Plann.

An Australian-founded company, Linktree has evolved over the last eight years from a link-in-bio leader to a full-suite provider for managing, growing, and monetising online presence.

Social scheduling has been one of the most requested features by Linktree users, a factor that influenced the acquisition, and will now be on offer in its product in the coming months. Current Plann customers will not see any immediate changes but will eventually be migrated over to Linktree.

Plann employees, including its Founder & CEO Christy Laurence, will join the Linktree team. "I'm thrilled for Plann to join Linktree as a homegrown leader I've long admired. I'm so excited to not only empower even more creators and businesses with greater tools to succeed, but to showcase the strength of Australian tech businesses," said Laurence.

Linktree's CEO & Founder, Alex Zaccaria, said "It's an exciting time for the Australian ecosystem, which we're immensely proud to be a part of. It is so rare that Australian businesses are able to join forces in this way, and I feel incredibly lucky to be in the position to be able to make something like this happen. With the addition of the Plann product and team to Linktree, we get a chance to create an even more robust offering that will empower creators and businesses not just in Australia, but on the world stage," said Zaccaria.
