Greencross Pet Wellness Company appoints former ALDI, Marley Spoon marketer to helm marketing for Petbarn, nabs Adairs loyalty and CRM lead for group role

Mark Richardson has departed meal kit delivery business Marley Spoon to join Petbarn as the Australian pet care retailer's general manager of marketing. In the new role, he will be focused on enhancing brand presence, customer engagement and experience.

Best known for launching the 'Good Different' platform during his six-year tenure as marketing director for ALDI Australia, Richardson joined Marley Spoon as chief marketing and commercial officer at the beginning of 2023, replacing Kate Whitney, who left for a new role as Treasury Wine Estates' chief digital and technology officer.

Richardson has also held senior marketing roles at BT Financial Group and Foxtel. He started his career on the agency side, having held senior roles at M&C Saatchi and Banjo Advertising (now part of Bastion).

Greencross Pet Wellness Company, the parent company of both Petbarn and Greencross Vets, has also appointed Adair's Emma Porter to the role of general manager of loyalty and customer lifecycle management.

Porter joins the business with over 20 years of experience in loyalty, CRM, and personalization, having held roles at Country Road, Myer, Coles, T2, and Decjuba. Most recently, she led Adairs’ Linen Lovers Loyalty Program, growing it to over 1 million members.

In the new role, Porter will drive customer retention and growth through data-driven loyalty and CRM programs, ensuring that customers experience greater value and engagement.

Chief Customer Officer of Greencross Pet Wellness Company, Nick Adams, said: "We are excited to welcome Emma and Mark, two exceptional talents whose expertise in retail marketing and customer loyalty will strengthen our ability to grow and innovate. Their skills will be invaluable as we continue to meet the evolving needs of pet parents and enhance the value we bring to our customers. Both Emma and Mark share a deep passion for pets, making them perfect fits for our mission-driven team."
