Banking meets design,
In a festival of sound,
Finance redefined.
Up partners with RISING Melbourne to host data-led immersive experience
Australian digital bank, Up, has partnered with RISING Melbourne to present the annual design festival's Night Trade, hosting an installation that embodies the brand's in-app financial wellbeing feature and doubles as a DJ booth.
Dubbed Hi-Fi: The Financially Sound System, the space will feature live performances from Melbourne artists including Cut Copy, Harvey Sutherland, and others.
Up's Head of Design, Pete Johnson, said: "It’s been great working closely with Boom Studios to bring our Hi—Fi system to life since it launched last October. Our world-first installation intersects art and money while choreographing real banking data and sounds from Melbourne's finest DJs," said Johnson.
The installation is designed to transform ordinary financial tasks into interactive experiences using real aggregated customer data and digital art visualisations. Located at 11 Howey Place in Melbourne, Hi-Fi is expected to attract thousands of visitors during the 15-day festival.
"We created the Hi—Fi system to make money easy for young Aussies. We did this by flipping the script on the tedious task of money management, and turning it into a fun activity for them to enjoy," said Johnston. "With over 850,000 young Aussies using Up, we wanted to create an experience that we know our customers would love, merging the chaos of money management into a feeling of wellness with the modern sounds of Melbourne."
In addition to the festival, Up has also partnered with Triple R and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for hidden gigs within the historic arcade. Headliner sets will be streamed on Up’s social channels for those unable to attend.
Up is a mobile-only digital bank developed by Melbourne-based fintech Ferocia, part of the Bendigo Bank family.
