Emma Tunnock takes helm at Tourism Port Douglas Daintree

Former brand marketer, Emma Tunnock has been appointed as the new Executive Officer of Tourism Port Douglas Daintree.

Tunnock has an extensive background in marketing, tourism, and economic development and officially commences her role on 23 July, 2024. She has held pivotal roles in various organisations, including the Tourism and Economic Development Officer at Douglas Shire Council. During her tenure there, Tunnock developed the first Investment Prospectus, led the Agricultural Options and Opportunities project, and launched the 'Do It in Douglas' brand.

Tunnock's career also includes working with luxury brands such as TAG Heuer and Time+Tide Watches, where she developed marketing strategies and managed high-profile partnerships.

"Emma’s experience and proven leadership make her the perfect choice to guide our organisation," Cam Charlton, chair of Tourism Port Douglas Daintree, said. "Her strategic vision and dedication to sustainable tourism will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our region's appeal to both domestic and international visitors."

Tunnock herself is enthusiastic about her new role, stating, "This region holds immense potential, and I am committed to fostering strong collaborations and driving sustainable growth in our tourism industry."
