Are car subscriptions a thing? Motopool is betting on it
Motopool, a leading car subscription service, has conducted a survey to understand why customers choose their service. The top reasons for opting for a car subscription include previously owning a vehicle and selling it, being new to the state or country, and having a car break down or written off. Other reasons include value for money, ease of sign-up, and the speed and availability of cars.
"Surveys like this give us a great understanding of the changing landscape of automotive use. They Highlight the ease of use these types of services offer and why many are drawn to this new way of transportation," said Andrew Rickett, CEO of Motopool.
Motopool's service is particularly popular among Millennials and Gen-Z due to its flexibility, digital convenience, and value. The company offers a range of vehicles to suit different needs, including sedans for city commuting, SUVs for weekend getaways, and electric vehicles for environmental consciousness.
"We get a tremendous amount of feedback from clients who are using a car subscription as a go-between after selling and purchasing a new car, only to decide to stay with the subscription service due to its affordability and ease of use," Rickett added.
The survey found car subscriptions have particular appeal when consumers are immigrating or relocating around Australia for work purposes or sports. "Car subscriptions are easy for international or local clients who want a quick and simple way to ensure they have a vehicle on their arrival, taking much of the stress out of relocating whether it is from state to state or internationally," Rickett explained.
"Allowing customers to organise a subscription quickly allows many who have found themselves in a car-less situation to get back on the road promptly. This can have a huge impact on individuals, particularly from a work aspect," Rickett noted.
Motopool is committed to providing a service that meets the diverse needs of its customers. "Whether it's for relocation purposes, a change of job and coming out of a company car, or having serious car issues that may leave you without a mode of transport. At Motopool, we're proud to offer a flexible, convenient, and hassle-free mobility solution that enhances the driving experience for our subscribers," Rickett said.
"The ability to switch between different vehicles based on current needs or moods aligns perfectly with the on-demand culture that defines these generations. Whether it's a sleek sedan for city commuting, an adventurous SUV for weekend getaways, or an electric vehicle for environmental consciousness the options are as diverse as their preferences," Rickett concluded.
