Victorian Chamber of Commerce launches TikTok training for small businesses

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) is set to launch an initiative aimed at helping small businesses expand their customer base through a series of events and training focused on TikTok. This move comes in response to the Chamber's Victorian Business Pulse Survey, which identified brand growth and marketing presence as key areas of focus for Victorian businesses.

Approximately 350,000 Australian businesses currently utilise TikTok as a channel to reach audiences. The VCCI's initiative will provide these businesses with insights on how to maximise their use of the platform. The events will be held in Melbourne and regional Victoria, offering participants access to a three-part virtual training suite on TikTok.

"As one of the fastest growing and largest social media platforms worldwide, TikTok can help businesses connect with a wide, diverse and new audience. The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is committed to helping businesses grow and social media is a tool that when used correctly, can really value add," said Chief Executive of the VCCI, Paul Guerra.

Country Head SMB at TikTok, Tora Brophy, emphasised the wide range of businesses that could benefit from the platform. "From lawn mowers to landscapers, bakers to bookshops, mechanics, fashion, food and tourism, the list is endless. So, no matter what type of business, I’d encourage everyone to come along because you never know if your video could be the next viral hit."
