The Australian, Elle Macpherson celebrate 60 years in WISH magazine special

The Australian has published a special Icons edition of its monthly luxury lifestyle magazine, WISH, featuring Elle Macpherson on the eve of her 60th birthday.

The issue also marks the start of The Australian's 60th-anniversary celebrations, with plans to highlight the past six decades and look towards the future.

The Australian, Editor-in-Chief, Michelle Gunn, said: “The Australian celebrates 60 years of excellence in journalism this year and over the coming months we plan to celebrate the highlights of the past six decades but also look to the future. We now bring our readers this celebratory Icons issue of WISH, featuring the always elegant Elle Macpherson who shares our milestone birthday. It's a year-long party, so look out for more exciting coverage, special features and events."

The Icons issue of WISH not only focuses on Macpherson's journey but also spotlights other legends such as Karl Lagerfeld, Dan Carter, Leigh Bowery, Patricia Urquiola, and the siblings behind Australian fashion label Camilla and Marc.

The Australian's Editorial Director, Edwina McCann, said: “When it came to choosing a cover star to kick off The Australian newspaper’s 60th birthday celebrations this year, it had to be another Australian icon who is coincidentally also blowing out the candles on her significant birthday cake this month: supermodel and superwoman Elle Macpherson. As you will read in our cover story, “The Body” at 60 is in the prime of her life after transforming her inner health some 10 years ago, resulting in the founding of her own wellness brand, WelleCo.”

The issue is supported by key advertisers including Paspaley, Margot McKinney, Tiffany & Co, and Ralph Lauren. WISH is available online exclusively to subscribers at theaustralian.com.au and as a large-format 102-page glossy magazine inserted into The Australian newspaper.
