Leapmotor takes flight,
In the EV market's sight,
A spectacle, bright.
Leapmotor makes a spectacular leap into Australian EV market with helicopter promo
Leapmotor, a newcomer to the electric vehicle (EV) market, has made its official debut in Australia with the launch of its fully electric C10 SUV. The launch was amplified by a partnership with Channel 7’s Sunrise, involving a helicopter giveaway stunt. A brand-new C10 was delivered to a lucky winner via a helicopter tour down the NSW coastline. The helicopter stunt saw the C10 flying across Sydney’s skyline before landing on the shores on Friday.
Joanne Stogiannis, Director of Marketing and Communications at Stellantis, suggests the launch aimed to rekindle the spectacle of car launches and establish Leapmotor in Australia. "Years ago car launches were the biggest thing in marketing. Over time they’ve lost a bit of pizazz and spectacle and we thought we should try to bring some of that back to help establish Leapmotor in Australia. The Leapmotor C10 is a real exemplar in terms of EV automotive technology and the value is extraordinary for its outstanding quality and performance," said Stogiannis.
Sean Cummins, Chief Creative Officer at Cummins & Partners, described the launch as one of the most memorable they've done. "We’ve done our unfair share of cool car launches and this was one for the ages. I have never seen a car flying through the air…in essence doing a Leap over the waters to arrive in Australia. As a stunt it was incredible... and being amplified on Sunrise was exceptional," Cummins said.
