Shopify's new stride,
In Australia's e-commerce tide,
Brands ride the high ride.
Shopify launches brand campaign to increase its 25% share of all Australian ecom transactions
Shopify has unveiled a new brand campaign across Australia, showcasing its capacity to support businesses of all sizes and grow its marketshare of total Australian ecom transactions from 25% currently.
Created with Sydney-based agency Chello, the campaign features three prominent Australian brands - LSKD, Petstock, and Toys “R” Us - all of which have utilised Shopify’s platform to scale their operations.
Shaun Broughton, Managing Director of APAC and Japan at Shopify, said: "Shopify powers over 25% of all ecommerce in Australia, underpinned by our support for businesses of all sizes, including the demands of enterprise. With more innovation, speed and reliability than any other platform, this campaign is a great reminder that leading enterprise brands like LSKD, Petstock and Toys “R” Us are using Shopify to reach new heights. When we work with retailers, there’s no enterprise too big, and no entrepreneur too small."
The campaign is part of a broader APAC initiative, which has already been launched in Singapore. It includes hero videos titled ‘From Entrepreneur to Enterprise’ being rolled out across various digital platforms, including Meta, LinkedIn, Reddit, ITNews, Spotify, Google Discovery, and YouTube. The campaign also includes high-impact Out-of-Home (OOH) placements in key locations across Melbourne and Sydney throughout November.
In Melbourne, the campaign features tram wraps, a 3D billboard at the corner of Flinders and Elizabeth streets, and other notable OOH like Tullamarine Freeway. In Sydney, the campaign includes bus wraps, Light Rail panels, and the Bondi Junction Super Screen.
Results from the Singapore phase of the campaign show a 10.8% increase in brand recall and a 5.7% rise in familiarity with Shopify, reaching 67.7k individuals.
Chello, a creative agency based in Redfern, founded by Lindsay Rogers and Tristan Velasco, works with several notable clients including Shopify, Cherry Automotive, and My Muscle Chef.
Tristan Velasco, Chello Creative Director, said: "We worked closely with the Shopify team to go deep on recent merchant research to understand both the brand equity that Shopify had achieved with APAC Chief Technology Officers to date, as well as the barriers some businesses needed to overcome to make the transition to Shopify as their commerce platform. Shopify has always endeavoured to put its merchants first, however this was the moment for the brand to step into the sun while still celebrating success in tandem with its biggest success stories."
