ABC unseats Casefile for second place finish in July podcast ranker
The ABC News Top Stories podcast has split up the Australian podcast duopoly in Triton Digitals July 2024 ranker, bumping Audioboom's Casefile True Crime out of the top two for the first time in years.
ABC News Top Stories only made its debut on the top 200 chart in April, landing in 3rd place. A jump to 763,841 monthly listeners in July helped the title to overstep Casefile, which at the same time saw a drop in its own monthly audience, down to 651,998.
LiSTNR's Hamish and Andy held onto the top spot for the fifth month running, with 862,794 monthly listeners.
Rounding out the top five was 'Mamamia Out Loud' with 524,800 listeners, and 'Browyn' by News Corp Australia with 511,202 listeners.
In terms of genres, Society & Culture took the top spot with 4.2 million listeners. True Crime, News, Comedy, and Sports followed with 4.1 million 3.8 million, 3.2908 million and 3.2902 million listeners respectively.
The top five podcast publishers for July 2024 were ARN/iHeart with 4.5 million listeners, LiSTNR (SCA) with 3.1 million listeners, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation with 2.4 million listeners, News Corp Australia with 2.1 million listeners, and Audioboom with 1.9 million listeners.
The sales representatives with the most monthly listeners were LiSTNR (SCA) with 6.8 million listeners, ARN/iHeart with 6.7 million listeners, NOVA Entertainment with 2.8 million listeners, and News Corp Australia with 2.1 million listeners, and Nine with 1.4 million listeners.
