Honda unveils '0 series' EV line-up with new brand mark for EV vehicles

Honda has unveiled its ambitious 'Honda 0 Series', a new global electric vehicle (EV) series set to launch in 2026 at CES 2024, complete with a new 'H mark' logo exclusively created for its next-gen vehicles.

The announcement was marked by the world premiere of two concept models, the Saloon and Space-Hub. The Saloon model will be the first to hit the North American market in 2026, with subsequent rollouts planned for Japan, Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South America.

Both wear the new 'H mark' logo, created exclusively for its next-generation EV models, which the company said symbolises Honda's commitment to expanding the possibilities of mobility and meeting the evolving needs of its customers.

The current Honda H mark dates back to 1981. In launching the next-generation EVs, Honda said it wanted to express the company's determination to undergo a historic transformation as well as the ability to constantly pursue new challenges and advancements. Designed to look like two outstretched hands and a step away from the square shape of the current brand mark, the new-look logo will be applied on future Honda EV models, including the Honda 0 Series.

The automotive company said the 'Honda 0 Series' represents a significant shift in approach to EV development, underpinned by three core principles: 'Thin, Light, and Wise'.

"We will create a completely new value from zero based on thin, light and wise as the foundation for our new Honda 0 EV series to further advance the joy and freedom of mobility to the next level," Global CEO of Honda, Toshihiro Mibe, said.

The Saloon, the flagship concept model of the Honda 0 Series, features innovative steer-by-wire and motion control management systems.

The Space-Hub, developed under the theme of 'augmenting people's daily lives', offers a flexible space designed to accommodate a variety of passengers and serve as a 'hub' connecting people to each other and the outside world.

Hondong is developing its own operating system for Honda 0 Series models. These vehicles will feature an advanced driver-assistive system (ADAS) that utilises the technologies found within Honda SENSING Elite. In a move that underscores the company's commitment to personalisation and user experience and utilising AI and driver data, the vehicle will learn the user's preferences as well as behaviours and tendencies while driving.

"The vehicle will continue to offer new value as it better understands user behavior. The more people use their vehicle, the more rewarding the ownership experience becomes, adding to the 'fun of being connected'," the company added.
