Gumtree taps G Squared for SEO and user experience overhaul
Gumtree, the popular online classifieds platform, has enlisted the services of digital consultancy G Squared to enhance its search and user experience. The appointment comes after a competitive pitch process involving several agencies.
Sydney-based G Squared will be tasked with managing search engine optimisation (SEO) for Gumtree, as well as identifying opportunities to boost site traffic and conversions. With over six million unique users in Australia each month and 45,000 new listings added daily across a variety of categories, Gumtree has become a significant player in the online marketplace.
Tudor Stefanescu, digital performance lead at Gumtree, emphasised the importance of maintaining a strong online presence in a competitive marketplace.
“We needed an agency that understands the diverse environment we operate in and G Squared demonstrated strong strategic thinking and executional capability that will deliver on our objectives," he said.
G Squared, has a team of over 70 and a track record of working with high-profile clients including Mirvac, Mitsubishi Electric, Mate, Bunnings and Specsavers. The agency's director, George Photios, expressed his enthusiasm about the Gumtree partnership.
“Gumtree is an Australian institution, and one which is used by one in four Australian internet users each month. The group has big ambitions to cement its status as the destination for buyers and sellers and we’ll bring our experience and expertise to ensure targets are met," he said.
Kate Duffield, head of SEO at G Squared, also commented on the partnership, saying the team is looking forward to the opportunity to work on Gumtree’s SEO strategy and "play a part in reimagining content strategy and website experience".
"To have an impact on such a well-established website requires a unique approach, and we’re excited to see that come to fruition," she added.
