The Marketing Academy calls for new CMO fellowship recruits
The Marketing Academy APAC CMO Fellowship Program is now accepting applications for its 2024 program.
The 8-month board-level mentoring, coaching, and executive development program is aimed at shaping Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) into CEOs. The Fellowship Program, now in its 11th year in Europe and 4th year in the US, boasts over 200 CMO alumni from companies such as Amazon, IBM, Emirates Group, HSBC, Starbucks, Cisco, Adidas, GE, Diageo, and Unilever.
The program is run in partnership with McKinsey & Company and sponsored by Salesforce. It is delivered by The Marketing Academy, and the curriculum includes masterclasses covering the full CEO and board stewardship spectrum. The CMO to CEO leadership journey is led by global CMO leadership expert Thomas Barta, with individual one-to-one executive coaching sessions led by Wisdom8 & Oscar Trimboli. The program also includes mentoring sessions with high-profile business leaders and peer-to-peer learning.
"We're on the lookout for Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) throughout the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region to join a specialized development program. Our goal is to position CMOs as viable candidates to succeed CEOs, emphasizing the importance of marketing expertise in boardroom discussions," Founder & Global CEO of The Marketing Academy, Sherilyn Shackell, said. "We anticipate significant interest from CMOs in countries such as Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, China, Japan, and beyond, and eagerly await applications from talented individuals across the region."
McKinsey & Company Senior Partner, Vincent Cremers, was excited to continue its knowledge partnership with the Marketing Academy and build on the launch of the APAC CMO Fellowship Program last year.
"By bringing together best-in-class business and leadership insights from McKinsey, mentorship from industry veterans and continuous career coaching, this program provides a distinctive recipe for today’s marketers to be tomorrow’s CEOs," he said.

It not only delivers world-class insights from both global and local experts but, and perhaps most importantly, it fosters an incredible community of regional CMO's, with connections that last well beyond the program."
The program requires a 12-day commitment from appointed ‘Fellows’ between July 2024 & March 2025, including participation in three Residential events in Sydney and two other Asia Pacific locations to be selected from Japan, India or the greater China Region.
The Marketing Academy will award places to a maximum of 20 CMOs and marketing leaders following a rigorous selection process. Attendance for those selected is free of charge.
