Super Netball season 2024 shatters viewership records

The 2024 Suncorp Super Netball season has reportedly broken viewership records across Foxtel Group's linear and streaming platforms, marking the third consecutive year of growth. The audience for Netball on Kayo Sports, Foxtel Now and Foxtel Go now reportedly comprises 63% of the total viewership.

Over the course of the season and final series, more than 210 million minutes were streamed across all matches. The 2024 Grand Final, which saw the Adelaide Thunderbirds defeat the Melbourne Vixens, recorded nine million minutes streamed on Kayo Sports, Foxtel Go and Foxtel Now.

"It's fantastic to see that our supercharged content offering this Super Netball season resonated so well with audiences. It has been an exhilarating season and we have enjoyed bringing all the action and analysis to Netball fans across the country," said Erin Ferreira, Executive Producer of Fox Netball.

Kayo Sports subscribers have reportedly benefited from Netball Australia's broadcast and streaming rights deal with Foxtel Group, with two matches per round and every match of the Final Series available live and free via Kayo Freebies. The Opening Round of the season achieved the highest opening round viewership of all time.

"Just like our supercharged content offering, we supercharged the Kayo Sports experience this season with the introduction of 4K. We're also thrilled that the Kayo Freebies audience continues to grow, giving more people easy access to the sport. Congratulations to the team and league on another brilliant season," Ferreira added.

The West Coast Fever vs Melbourne Vixens game in round 7, where the Vixens broke the Fever's unbeaten record, was the most watched match of the season. The Kayo Sports experience was enhanced this season with the introduction of 4K.

"This Suncorp Super Netball season has been the biggest yet, and we have seen significant growth in viewership across Foxtel and Kayo Sports. Our partnership with the Foxtel Group showcases the inspiring stories of our world class athletes playing in the world's best netball league. This season's record viewership is a testament to the strength of the competition and the incredible broadcast experience delivered to fans each week," said Stacey West, CEO of Netball Australia.
