Southern Cross and Network 10 forge fresh regional TV affiliation agreement
Southern Cross Media Group (SCA) revealed a fresh regional television affiliation agreement with Network 10 in time for 2024, aimed at bolstering both parties' advertising and sponsorship opportunities. However, the agreement is still awaiting the green light from Paramount Global’s senior management.
The deal will enable SCA to broadcast channels 10, 10 Bold, 10 Peach, and Nickelodeon across regional Queensland, Southern NSW, and regional Victoria.
The new affiliation agreement, which builds on the relationship that kicked off on 1 July 2021, is set to run for an indefinite period. This extended partnership is expected to yield improved outcomes for both SCA and Network 10, with an increased collaboration between the parties’ national sales teams to optimise advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
SCA will continue to broadcast Network 10’s programs including popular shows such as 'MasterChef Australia', 'Have You Been Paying Attention?', 'I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!', 'Australian Survivor', 'The Masked Singer Australia', 'Hunted Australia', 'The Cheap Seats', 'The Project', and the return of 'Gladiators' and 'Deal or No Deal'. Key sports events including the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix, and live NBL and A-League games will also be part of the broadcast lineup.
“Network 10 looks forward to continuing our affiliate relationship with SCA across critical regional markets ensuring that our extraordinary line up of entertainment, news and sport continues to reach households across Australia whilst creating unique and exciting opportunities for our advertising clients,” said Paramount Australia and New Zealand Executive Vice President, Chief Operating & Commercial Officer & Regional Lead, Jarrod Villani.
SCA Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, John Kelly, echoed Villani's sentiments. “We are delighted to reach this new affiliation agreement with Network 10, which will realise improved outcomes for both parties and an aligned advertising solution for regional advertisers," he said.
"We are confident in Network 10’s 2024 content schedule and we look forward to promoting 10’s suite of premium programming in regional Australia to deliver outstanding results for advertisers and reliable returns for SCA’s shareholders."
