Bridey Drake takes out Creator of the Year at 2024 TikTok Awards
The 2024 TikTok Awards last night recognised the top creators in Australia and New Zealand across 13 categories, with Bridie Drake taking out the prestigious Creator of the Year trophy.
"This is such a huge honour, winning this award means so much, as TikTok has played a huge role in where I am today. Everything I have achieved as a creator and a business owner has been made possible thanks to this incredible platform. I’m also so grateful to my amazing TikTok community who have been by my side since this journey began! I can’t wait to keep creating, connecting, and sharing. Thank you to everyone who voted for me," said Drake.
Hosted at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion, the event was attended by 1,500 guests, including celebrities, VIPs, and creators, and was hosted by Robert Irwin, alongside Indy Clinton and Kat Clark as co-hosts.
A total of 3.4 million votes were cast across the TikTok Award's 13 categories, with winners including Sam Fricker (Sport & Fitness Creator of the Year), Royal Otis (Music Artist of the Year), and Kat Clark (Business of the Year for skincare brand Kaladé). The event also featured performances by TikTok dancers, music stars Cyril Riley and Shannon Noll, and international pop sensation JoJo Siwa.
Head of Content for TikTok Australia and New Zealand, Simon Bates, said: "Every year the awards get bigger and better, with this year our biggest yet. We had a record number of people in the room, many more watching from home, and more than three million votes cast. In addition, we had terrific brand partners that really understand the magic of TikTok. But, none of this would have been possible without our amazing creators. Winning a TikTok award is a game-changer for many as it opens up new opportunities including brand deals, and global recognition. I can't wait to see what these talented creators do next."
