QMS makes play for indie ad dollars, raids rival for new GM
Out of home firm QMS is eyeing more growth from the independent agency sector, poaching JCDecaux exec David Pullinger to lead the charge.
What you need to know:
- Bidding to tap the burgeoning independent agency market, QMS has named David Pullinger as the company's first GM, Independent Agencies & Direct Sales.
- Pullinger joins from rival JCDecaux, where he held a similar role.
Following a slew of new independent agencies opening their doors last year, alongside the formation of the first industry body dedicated to the sector (the IMAA), outdoor company QMS has appointed its first GM dedicated to independents.
David Pullinger joins from rival outdoor provider JCDecaux, taking on the role of General Manager, Independent Agencies & Direct Sales.
With over 20 years’ experience leading media sales teams, Pullinger spent close to a decade at APN Outdoor prior to its acquisition by JCDecaux in 2018.
QMS boss John O'Neill hopes to build on momentum generated by the firm's appointment to the City of Sydney outdoor contract, with Pullinger's role key to further growth.
“This newly created role is critical to delivering our strategic vision as we prepare to lead yet another transformational year for the sector," said O'Neill. "David brings a wealth of senior sales leadership experience, market leading customer service and product knowledge.”
