Mood Tea sweeps Golden Leaf Awards, fuelling mission to combat youth suicide

MOOD, the industry's purpose-driven tea brand, has bagged four awards at the Golden Leaf Awards, Australia's premier specialty tea competition, standing out among 620 competing teas.

The Golden Leaf Awards are known for their rigorous judging process, with tea industry professionals conducting blind taste tests to determine the highest-quality and best-tasting teas commercially available in Australia. MOOD triumphed by winning Gold in the Functional and Wellness (Flavoured) category and three Silver medals.

The winning blends from MOOD at the 2023 Golden Leaf Awards include 'Get On Up', 'Sweet Lullaby', 'Happy Days', and 'Jolly Good'. Each of these teas is crafted with natural ingredients and comes in premium pyramid (non-GMO, biodegradable) tea bags. All herbal teas in the range are caffeine-free, aligning with the brand's wellness focus.

MOOD was founded in 2021 with the mission of making a significant dent in youth suicide statistics. The brand's business model is designed to support this mission, with all profits from MOOD tea sales funding youth mental health programs. Since its launch, product sales have generated enough revenue to fund seven mental health programs, impacting over 1,300 young people in under three years.

General Manager of MOOD, Rachel Troy, expressed her excitement over the brand's success at the Golden Leaf Awards. "This success is a win for our entire industry, one we should all be proud of and celebrate. MOOD is a true product of our industry and I’d like to thank everyone who has helped to bring it to life - from taste testing, branding, design, marketing, strategy and premium media inventory," she said.

Troy also highlighted the brand's commitment to producing high-quality teas that contribute to a greater cause. "Being recognised by Australia’s top tea professionals with four awards for our expertly crafted teas is an incredible achievement and reflects our unwavering commitment to producing teas that not only taste exceptional but also contribute to a greater cause. We can now truly say we have really good brews that do good too!" she added.
