Catalano's ACM and Outbrain ink three year deal
Antony Catalano's $125m regional publishing play, Australia Community Media, has entered into a new three year deal with native advertising platform Outbrain to monetise the network's growing regional and rural audiences.
What you need to know:
- Australian Community Media is upping its investment into advertising inventory, partnering with native advertising platform Outbrain.
- Outbrain’s Smartfeed product will be rolled out across all of ACM’s sites in Australia, as it looks to tap into the 8.8m residents in regional areas of Australia.
ACM, which Catalano acquired for $125m from Nine last year, has some 170 rural and regional newspapers and community-based websites serving millions of people across the country, including The Canberra Times, Newcastle Herald, Illawarra Mercury and Bendigo Advertiser.
Outbrain’s Smartfeed product will be rolled out across all of ACM’s sites in Australia, adding premium inventory that will link advertisers to these regional audiences.
“This is an amazing opportunity to provide advertisers with exposure to an often underrepresented customer base in regional areas, and find even more of their target audiences," said Andrew Burke, Managing Director, APAC and Growth Markets at Outbrain.
