Blobfish International pledges support for Great Barrier Reef Foundation

Sampling network Blobfish International has made a fundraising pledge for the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, committing to donate 1% of all its campaign profits to the foundation.

The Great Barrier Reef Foundation, established in 1999, is dedicated to finding solutions to restore Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and creating a future for coral reefs in Australia and the Pacific. This pledge by Blobfish International aligns with the company's ethos and its connection to marine conservation.

"As an avid surfer, the Great Barrier Reef Foundation is an organisation that’s very close to my heart. I’ve always had a strong connection to the ocean and a deep understanding of the need for marine conservation. The Great Barrier Reef is one of Australia’s national treasures – it’s the largest living structure on earth, and provides a critical habitat for unique marine life. Many of our team has had incredible experiences with ocean creatures – from swimming with turtles to surfing next to dolphins – and it’s made us even more aware of how important habitat protection is for their survival," said Founder and CEO of Blobfish International, Nicolas Cann.

"Plus, given we’ve got ‘fish’ in our business name, this partnership is a no-brainer! This support represents a significant contribution from Blobfish - we are a small business with a big heart and we’re proud to be able to make an impact, not only for our agency but for our clients."

Blobfish International, established in 2015, partners with major tech companies including Uber, Ola, Didi, Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Menulog, and DoorDash. The company has worked with brands including BWS, Coca-Cola, Mars Wrigley Confectionery, Nestle, Optus, Pandora, Red Bull, and Schweppes, providing brand sampling opportunities across various sectors such as food delivery, Airbnb and hotels, ride share vehicles, gyms, Pilates, and yoga studios.

"The Great Barrier Reef, and coral reefs around the world, are struggling to keep pace with the impacts of climate change and other threats. It's crucial that we act now to help protect their future. Just as fish play a critical role in coral reef ecosystems, support from companies like Blobfish International is essential for the collective effort to restore the Great Barrier Reef and the coral reefs worldwide. We recognise that making this pledge can be a significant commitment for smaller organisations and we appreciate this strong dedication to a cause that affects us all," saidBusiness and Community Supporters Manager at the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, Fred Lazzerini.
