Out of home company JCDecaux says it will have digitised 25 per cent of its large billboards by the end of the year, with 17 of 35 Large Format spaces already in market.
Sydney sites in Roseville Chase, Hunters Hill, Balgowlah and Manly, and Melbourne sites along the Western Freeway and the Nepean Highway have been digitised.
“Our digital Out-of- Home strategy remains a high priority for us, as we endeavour to offer effective and progressive solutions for our partners,” Steve O’Connor, JCDecaux CEO, said.
O’Connor said some classic billboards will remain, as some brands want “exclusivity for their product.”
Programmatic Digital Out of Home has been one of the surprise stories of 2020 and 2021. Nearly three quarters of agencies have tried programmatic DOOH, and 34 per cent say they are regular users.
Dynamic creative is the next hurdle for agencies and brands wanting to take advantage of digital screens.
