Healthy competition
Omnicom-owned media agency PHD has opened a new office in Brisbane, located at 200 Adelaide Street.
The offices are shared with sister agency OMD and will primarily be led by the national executive team as PHD begins prospecting local clients, with a new MD expected to be announced once the agency secures its first major state-based brand.
PHD planned to ramp up local operations last year, but shelved plans due to Covid.
“With the country opening back up, now seems like a great time to explore growth opportunities in Brisbane," PHD CEO Mark Jarrett told Mi3.
"The Brisbane market is full of challenger brands that we believe PHD would be a great fit for and we look forward to bringing our offering to the market and hopefully some of those brands.”
PHD has also begun engaging local media owners and publishers, hosting industry drinks for the office in Brisbane last week.
PHD will also be competing with other holding group agencies including Carat, MediaCom, AKQA Media (formerly Ikon), Wavemaker, Zenith and Starcom.
Major brands operating out of the state include Flight Centre, Super Retail Group (owner of Rebel Sports, BCF and Super Cheap Auto), The Coffee Club, Domino's Pizza, Auto & General insurance, Queensland Government and Tourism and Events Queensland.
