Shell V-Power and Dick Johnson Racing continue their long-standing partnership

Viva Energy, operating under the Shell licensee, has extended its partnership with the Supercars team, Dick Johnson Racing. The multi-year deal will see the Shell V-Power brand maintain its position as the major partner and naming rights partner of Dick Johnson Racing. This partnership builds on a 57-year relationship, one of Australia's longest-standing sporting partnerships.

The Shell brand first appeared as a sponsor on Dick Johnson’s racing car in 1967. Shell took on full naming rights of Dick Johnson Racing for 18 years between 1987 and 2004, and returned as a naming rights partner in 2017, under its current Shell V-Power Racing Team moniker.

In their past eight years together, Dick Johnson Racing and Shell V-Power have achieved three Driver’s Championships, three Teams’ Championships and one Bathurst 1000 win.

Motorsport legend and co-owner of the Shell V-Power Racing Team, Dick Johnson, said: "It’s really, really pleasing to see that we’ve got another extension of our contract, which we’ve had for many, many years with Shell. We’ve been with them for 55-odd years and I believe our partnership is one of the longest-standing relationships in Australian sport. Over that time we have had a lot of success together, and we look forward to having a lot more success together in the future."

Chief Executive Officer of the Shell V-Power Racing Team, David Noble, said: "We’re thrilled to announce the renewal of our longstanding partnership between Shell and Dick Johnson Racing. With a remarkable 57-year history together, both brands have consistently demonstrated a commitment to high performance and excellence. As we look to the future, we’re excited to continue building on this legacy as we drive towards new achievements, united in our pursuit of excellence on and off the track."

General Manager of Marketing at Viva Energy Australia, Andrew Egan, said: "Our partnership with DJR is one that commenced over 57 years ago and is built on the mutual alignment of high performance and team culture. Our partnership is a true collaboration that delivers strong commercial outcomes for both the racing team and our business with the association of our Shell V-Power premium fuel brand. We are united in our passion for our fans, customers, and the sport to deliver the best experience possible."
