Rex scores an $80m boost from Australian government
The Australian Government has announced an $80 million financing facility to support the continued operations of the Rex network. The funding is expected to enhance the business and operational performance of the regional network, including an expansion of the active regional Rex fleet.
"This is great news for Rex. It provides resources for investment needed to improve the business and the operational performance of the regional network including increasing the size of the active regional Rex fleet," says Sam Freeman.
The government also plans to extend the Federal Government Regional Flight Booking Guarantee. Rex is seeking to extend the period of voluntary administration to 30 June 2025.
"We are also seeking to extend the period of voluntary administration to 30 June 2025. An extension coupled with a business improvement plan, enabled by the Australian Government’s $80 million financing facility, will put Rex in the best possible position for a sustainable future," Freeman adds.
