Flybuys has named Thinkerbell as its new media agency on a two-year contract, as the loyalty program kick starts a “significant brand evolution process” over the next 12 months.
The new appointment, which came after a pitch to a team from various parts of the business, ends Flybuys’ relationship with OMD. The transition to Thinkerbell will begin on 1 September.
“We are thrilled to welcome Thinkerbell to join our Flybuys agency mix,” Jarrod Flood, Flybuys Head of Marketing, said in a statement.
“Margie [Reid], Adam [Ferrier], and the team are well placed to support Flybuys as we enter this phase in our journey and strengthen our unique position in delivering more value to our members. We embark on this next chapter with a huge amount of respect for the team at OMD, and thank them for their support over the years.”
Reid, Thinkerbell’s Chief Executive Officer, said the agency was excited to work with Flybuys.
The decision to go to pitch, through an RFP procurement process, was made to coincide with a “brand evolution” said to take place over the next year.
Flybuys has more than 8 million members collects points across Coles, Kmart, Target, Bunnings, Officeworks, Catch.com.au and Optus. It is a joint venture between Wesfarmers and Coles.
