Proxima appoints Michelle Zamora as new CMO

Michelle Zamora is the new Chief Marketing Officer for Proxima, a leading centralised project marketing and sales management platform for developers and real estate agents.

As the former Global Head, Marketing, Communications & Corporate Affairs, Lendlease Digital, part of the global commercial property giant, she brings deep subject matter expertise to the role.

After leaving Lendlease in 2022 she helped launch Better As Usual, a Sydney-based digital consultancy. She is also a non-executive director at Christina Noble Children's Foundation.

Her career included a decade stint at IBM where she was a sales and marketing leader, and headed up marketing for both IBM Watson and IBM Analytics, making her something of a commercial pioneer in the Australian AI space.

Proxima opened in 2022 and has attracted over 1600 real estate agents, 30 developers and has hit a steady listing of over 1000 properties for sale at any one time. Its owner, Justin Wang migrated to Australia in 1993 from China as a Mandarin teacher, and has built up a successful portfolio of properties and businesses, including Proxima. His business partners are Distinguished Professor Fang Chen, who is also Executive Director at the UTS Data Science Institute and an award-winning, internationally recognised leader in AI and data science, as well as Darren Simmonds, who previously held the position of CEO Acer Oceana where he more than doubled its revenues across the ANZ region as a strong force in the commercial, consumer and gaming markets.

"As a market place of services, technology product and properties for sale it draws on over 20 years of IBM experience, helping to develop and craft their messaging and go to market approach," Zamora told Mi3. "As a young business, my experience at Willow, launching a new brand to the world is essential. Lendlease provided me with a view on the opportunities and challenges for property developers in the Australian marketplace. And finally as a CEO of my own marketing agency, I can draw on the out of the box thinking that small business owners, such as many of our real estate agents are, need to have to manage and lead their own organisation.

"Real Estate Agents are very often small businesses and developing marketing and brand strategies can be overwhelming when they are so focused on helping clients find their dream home. Being able to bring these experiences and insights to our ecosystem of passionate and forward thinking agents is a joy and I look forward to being part of an organisation enabling more people to find their dream home from a community of innovative and passionate agents, with a market place of residential properties from some of the best developers in the country.
