Squarespace shows a good business idea can from anywhere in first Trans-Tasman campaign
Website building and hosting platform, Squarespace, has launched its first-ever Trans-Tasman brand campaign, encouraging Australians and New Zealanders to monetise their existing skills or knowledge for a new business idea.
The campaign, created entirely by Squarespace's in-house creative team, features a boat captain who creates a business idea called 'Hitch on the Ditch', offering a unique solution for Australians and New Zealanders who can't decide which country to hold their wedding ceremony in - his own boat.
This work comes at a time when household spending is at its highest annual growth rate, aiming to help Australians diversify their income streams amidst rising cost of living pressures.
"Modern day entrepreneurs know that finding success doesn’t mean always coming up with a category-defining idea. This brand campaign aims to challenge the standard definition of entrepreneurship and encourages more Aussies and Kiwis to see what opportunities lie right in front of them. A good idea can come from anywhere, and at Squarespace we believe that a website can really help bring your idea to life," said Squarespace’s Senior Marketing Manager for Australia & New Zealand, Alex Neilson.
The campaign will be rolled out across TV, online radio, digital, video and social media in both Australia and New Zealand.
"As we enter our third decade, this was a special campaign to work on, harnessing the talent of our in-house creative team. While Australians and Kiwis have many similarities, there’s also a friendly rivalry that exists between the two which tends to lead to some cheeky banter. We decided to lean into that as the core of the idea and started by looking at the halfway point between the two countries. Or, neutral territory if you will. Turns out, it’s in the middle of the Tasman Sea. We asked ourselves, who would start a business here? Enter Captain Kev," said Squarespace Senior Creative Manager, Ben Hodgin.
