R/GA Australia bolsters public sector offering with key senior appointments

R/GA Australia, a creative innovation studio, has announced a series of senior appointments in Canberra as part of its public sector and mission-driven offering. The company says the move is part of R/GA's Public Practice's aim to disrupt traditional consulting, agency, and outsourcing models, responding to the public sector's growing demand for specialist capabilities, transparency, and an emphasis on empowering internal teams.

Over the past year, R/GA’s Public Practice has secured the Australian Federal Government as its founding client and worked on several high-profile projects. These include the brand and experience for the Museum of Chinese in Australia, the digital platform for the Victorian Department of Education, and The City of Sydney New Year’s Eve fireworks and Calling Country.

"R/GA’s Public Practice is reshaping public sector engagement by turning services into experiences, campaigns into movements, and bureaucracies into brands. In recent months, we’ve cultivated a seasoned senior team, merging extensive expertise from the public and mission driven sectors with innovative thinking from diverse industries, to drive fresh and creative approaches," said Tish Karunarathna, Executive Director of R/GA Australia.

The new senior appointments span across brand, comms, experience, and technology. They include Skye Kibbey, Senior Product Strategist from Deloitte Digital; Sam Bruno, Technology Director previously with Dentsu Merkle; Joe McKinley, a full-stack design leader transitioning from Deloitte Digital; and Nick Trembath, Group Account Director joining from Liquid Interactive.

"R/GA’s Public Practice introduces a nimble, collaborative, mission-first approach focused on helping clients discover culturally relevant strategies for transformative interactions with citizens through creativity, innovation and technology," Karunarathna said.

R/GA says its Public Practice is focused on helping clients discover culturally relevant strategies for transformative interactions with citizens through creativity, innovation, and technology. The studio is committed to shaping a more human future, bridging the gap between public policy and citizen engagement.

According to Victoria Curro, Managing Director of R/GA Australia, "We’re committed to shaping a more human future. Our evolved offering bridges the gap between public policy and citizen engagement, responding to emerging consumer attitudes. Our exciting projects with Commonwealth, State, and public sector organisations truly embody this commitment."
