Former Aurora Expeditions CMO takes on Sydney nightlife challenge in latest career move

Former Aurora Expeditions CMO, Hayley Peacock-Gower, has joined the team supporting NSW Government's first Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner tasked with giving the state's nightlife a much-need energy injection.

Peacock-Gower has spent the last three-and-a-half years as the chief marketing officer for Aurora Expeditions, a boutique travel company and B Corporation providing small group voyages and tours worldwide. But before this she was in media, working as marketing and partnerships director at News Corporation for five years, as well as director of brand and customer growth at Fairfax Media for the three years prior to that.

Peacock-Gower started her career on the agency side, and rose to director of group business at Publicis Worldwide Australia before switching to media, then client-side.

The Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner was established in 2021and is tasked with working with government partners, local councils, industry and community to try and inject more life Sydney and greater Sydney CBDs. It sits within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport and is headed by commissioner, Michael Rodrigues, who was behind the launch of Time Out in Sydney in 2007 and was MD until his latest career move.

Peacock-Gower is Team24's new associate director of programs. The role includes leading the development and growth of innovative place-based programs across the 'Districts' of our city and state.

"This involves collaborating with local businesses, creators, and brands to support the roll out of exciting and sustainable place-based initiatives and activations," she explained.

This is an incredible opportunity to innovate, in a newly created role, with an exciting new initiative and collaborate to drive interest and growth," Peacock-Gower said.

"The opportunity to innovate in this new role is immensely exciting. Being part of a team tasked with elevating Sydney to true global city status is deeply appealing. The prospect of developing districts and hubs comparable to those in New York, London, and other world-class cities is an extraordinary opportunity," she added.
