Roger Dunn departs CitrusAd to lead Diageo's global retail media efforts

Global alcohol giant Diageo has recruited Australian retail media specialist, Roger Dunn, to head up the business' global retail media and performance media strategy.

Dunn departs Public Groupe's retail media and e-commerce arm, CitrusAd, to take on the new role, after joining in August 2023 as senior vice president of business development for the Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) region.

Dunn has extensive experience in eCommerce and digital media, having held roles at WPP AUNZ, Mediacom, NewsCorp and PHD UK. He also spent an 18 month stint as head of retail media ANZ for French commerce media platform Criteo, up until April 2023.

In a post shared to LinkedIn, Dunn said he was "excited" to play his part at "the global leader in premium drinks", which he said was "one of the most exciting consumer product categories".

Diageo houses more than 200 brands in the spirit and beer categories, including Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Tanqueray, Baileys, Smirnoff, Captain Morgan, Crown Royal, Don Julio, and Ciroc.

CitrusAd is an Australian-founded retail media platform that was acquired by Publicis Groupe in 2021. The company remains headquartered in Brisbane, and is lead locally by former Hogarth executive, Rob Odd.
