What you need to know:
- Cinemas across Australia recorded 10.7 million admissions between December 16 and January 30.

A slate of blockbuster films in the school holiday period drove more than 10 million cinema admissions in a little over six weeks.
Between December 16 and January 30, 10.7 tickets were sold, Val Morgan says.
Spiderman: No Way Home took out the top spot – not only for the year, but it became the third biggest film in Australian box office history with 4.1m admissions so far.
It had a big lead over the second most-popular film, Sing 2, which recorded 1.3 million tickets.
About 45 per cent of these admissions represented the 18–39-year-old category, Guy Burbidge, Managing Director of Val Morgan Cinema, said.
“This summer proved that both the consumer and advertiser confidence in cinema is strong, delivering impressive audience results across the board and our largest revenue month since December 2019,” he said.
Upcoming films include Uncharted, starring Tom Holland, and The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson.
