Mi3 News Analysis: what and why we're doing it

By Josh McDonnell - Senior Writer

Mi3's News Analysis section launched last week as part of our editorial expansion in 2020. The intent is to do more than just report the news each week but ask why it matters and what it means for industry. Quick-hit news tickles the senses but as an industry facing widespread challenges, we need to advance our debate and understanding of why, not just what. Here's how you can get involved.

In the eight months since the launch of Mi3, the industry has taken to the platform that provides deeper, more meaningful, conversations around the big issues facing marketers, agencies and media owners.

Many of these articles have tackled high-level macro trends and important - and differing - viewpoints. As Mi3's readership and audience engagement grows, the next area of focus is to go a little deeper behind the news.

    What makes News Analysis different?

Rather than join race for the quick click or press release reprint, News Analysis will select key news themes and topics for a more considered and constructive take.

This work will come from our own knowledge, sources and industry trends but will also use media announcements and releases with a view to go deeper.
