Jerome Gaslain to lead The Works team through Capgemini integration

Capgemini AUNZ is in the process of shuttering its Australian creative arm, The Works, with at least one of the business' partners exiting as integration with the technology services consultancy commences.

"As we are in the process of integrating The Works into Capgemini AUNZ, we are preparing our organization to ensure we meet the evolving needs of our clients and the market," a Capgemini spokesperson told Mi3.

The creative agency became part of the Capgemini group in 2021 after the French multinational acquired RXP, which The Works had sold to four years prior.

The Works was originally founded in 2002 by Kevin McMillan and Damien Pincus, with Douglas Nicols joining as a founding partner four years later.

McMillan left the business in 2020, and now Nicols has also called time on his 18 years with the agency. "After selling the business to Capgemini in 2017 we have been bringing the various Capgemini skills closer and closer together to offer clients a wider range of services. This feels like the right time to hand over to the next generation of awesome young leaders in our business," he shared on LinkedIn,

Reports suggest Nicol's may be followed out the door by Pincus, as well as managing director Julie Dormand, however Capgemini would not confirm conjecture regarding the exits of those senior leaders, nor reports of sweeping redundancies across the business.

In any case, it appears that newly joined growth creation partner Jerome Gaslain will takeover the reins from his predecessors after joining The Works only several months ago.

"Jerome Gaslain will oversee the team as they continue to focus on delivering great outcomes to our clients," said a Capgemini spokesperson.

The news comes after Capgemini last month reported a 2.5 percent decline in revenues for the second quarter of 2024. Collectively, the Asia Pacific and Latin America regions saw a 3.7 percent decline.
