Tabcorp hires former NAB, HSBC and Commbank data science supremo as data-analytics chief
Tabcorp has appointed Dr Amy Shi-Nash as the company’s first Chief Data & Analytics Officer as it pushes deeper into personalisation - and it looks like there is more hiring to come.
Tabcorp has appointed Dr Amy Shi-Nash as the company’s first Chief Data & Analytics Officer as it pushes deeper into personalisation.
Shi-Nash’s remit will also include customer care, which likely means extracting signals that suggest problem gambling and ensuring protections are enabled.
Recognised as one of the global top 100 innovators in data and analytics, Shi-Nash has held top data science and analytics roles at NAB, HSBC and Commbank. She is a Data Board Member, Centre for Information Systems Research at MIT, a Founding Editorial Board Member at AI Ethics Journal and a Trustee at digital mental health charity Mental Health Innovations.
Chief Customer Officer Jenni Barnett, who took on the role last year, said the appointment marks the next step in her bid to “transform the company at pace”.
“Amy and her team will be key to our success in delivering our growth and customer experience vision, and importantly our customer care and responsible gambling leadership,’’ she said.
“I want us to be customer obsessed in everything we do. Amy will lead and grow our Data & Analytics team and capability across the company and will be pivotal in helping us realise our company strategy to grow, become customer obsessed, digitally enabled, with customer care at the centre.”
Shi-Nash indicated she will be hiring more data and analytics specialists.
“Tabcorp is quickly transforming into a more nimble and innovative organisation, another important part of my role is to attract and retain top talent, build best in class teams and culture,” she said.
“I’ve enjoyed watching the start of Tabcorp’s transformation journey from afar, the new executive leadership team in action, and I’m thrilled to now be part of making that transformation a reality for our customers.”
