Marketing's new prize.
Renee Davidson takes the helm as head of marketing at Brighter Super
Renee Davidson has been appointed as the new head of marketing at Queensland-based superannuation fund, Brighter Super.
The fund is a result of a merger between LGIAsuper and Energy Super in July 2021, with the brand name unveiled in July 2022. Brighter Super further expanded by acquiring Suncorp Super in April 2022, positioning it as the fourth largest non-government financial services entity in Queensland.
The company now manages over $29 billion in retirement savings for more than 259,000 members. In the last financial year, Brighter Super reported double-digit returns for members in three of its most popular investment options.
As reported by Mi3 Australia, Davidson's 18-month tenure as GM of marketing for Allianz ended late last year, four months after the insurance group appointed a new consumer chief.
Allianz restructured the marketing, customer, and insights teams under consumer chief, Shez Ford, who officially took up the reins as Allianz chief general manager of consumer in August. Ford's remit extends across Allianz's Consumer Division, and focuses on the distribution of consumer products through direct and intermediated channels, together with organisational centres of excellence for marketing, digital and customer insights. She replaced Mick Winter, who had held the newly created for just over two years but had over 20 years' experience at Allianz Australia.
Before joining Allianz, Davidson spent seven years at RACQ, including the last 18 months as general manager of marketing and membership.
"I'm looking forward to supporting our members and contributing to the growth of our brand and business," said Davidson in a LinkedIn post.
