Snapchat unveils new solutions and partnerships at newfronts, reports 21% yoy revenue growth

Snapchat has unveiled a host of new solutions, programs, and content partnerships for advertisers at it's upfronts style event, NewFronts, in New York City this week.

Among the announcements was the introduction of AR extensions, a new product that will enable advertisers to integrate AR Lenses and Filters directly into all of Snapchat's ad formats, including Dynamic Product Ads, Snap Ads, Collection Ads, Commercials, and Spotlight Ads.

Snapchat's AR offering has also been bolstered by new machine learning and automation tools set to make AR creation faster by generating assets at scale, shortening the time it takes for brands to turn 2D product catalogs into try-on experiences. Brands can now also creative branded AR ads with generative AI to produce custom lenses with realistic face effects.

On the partnership front, the social media giant has evolved its partnership with Live Nation, launching Snap Nation. The partnership will give users access to behind-the-scenes content from artists and live music experiences through a Snap Nation Public Profile.

Snapchat has also partnered with NBCUniversal to develop 5 unique AR experiences for the Paris 2024 Olympics, with plans to take its most popular content creators, including Livvy Dunne, Harry Jowsey and Kai Cenat, to Paris to report live from the events. This is in addition to continued partnerships with the WNBA, NBA, and NFL to provide official content across Stories and Spotlight for its users.

Also included in the announcements was the evolution of Snapchat's 523 creator accelerator program by branded entertainment studio Ensemble, to help brands partner and produce content with 523 participants.

The social media giant's President of Americas, Patrick Harris, and Chief Creative Officer, Colleen DeCourcy, were among the speakers at the event.

Snapchat reported a 21% YoY revenue growth in Q1 2024. The platform has 422 million daily active users and over 800 million monthly active users. Snapchat reaches over 90% of 13- to 24-year-olds, and over 75% of 13- to 34-year-olds in over 25 countries. In Q1 2024, Snapchat's revenue reached nearly $1.2 billion, a 21% YoY increase.
